I work in the domain of computational and experimental hydraulics/hydrodynamics. I am interested in carrying out experiments in shallow flows in open channels and pressurized flows in closed conduits and validating numerical models with experimental measurements. My research is multidisciplinary and involves fluid mechanics across mechanical and civil engineering. Basically, I am interested in quantifying/characterizing energy losses, unsteady friction, momentum transfer, and turbulence in free surface flows and pressurized flows using experiments and numerical simulations. I am also working on complex hydrodynamic phenomena such as sediment transport, reservoir sedimentation and river morphology. In addition, I am actively working on mitigating pressure surges in liquid pipelines with single phase as well as two phase (air and liquid) flows. A couple of research papers were already published and few are at submission stage.
